Play, Chat & Connect at This Frisco Indoor Playground

A free, fun play spot where kids play and parents can connect.

Sometimes the best play spaces give parents a little room, too. This free indoor playground at Preston Trail Community Church was designed as a place for kids to play while parents have a chance to connect, whether that's meeting a friend, chatting during a playdate, enjoying a snack, or getting a little work done.

Preston Trail Playground

The playground is designed for ages 2-10, but it's especially well suited for younger kids. It's large, open and very clean, with plenty of slides, climbing areas and spots for kids to duck into and explore. Some of the play structures are surprisingly tall, giving kids plenty of places to climb up, hide, and make their way through the different levels.

Huge windows also let in lots of natural light, making the whole playground feel bright and welcoming. And, of course, being indoors makes it a handy option when the weather isn't cooperating.

A Playground With Parents in Mind

One of the things that makes this playground different is the space surrounding it. Tables are positioned around the playground, including directly in front of the play area, so parents can sit nearby while kids play.

It's an easy setup for a playdate, with room to sit and chat while the kids have plenty to keep them busy. Families can also bring a snack to enjoy at the tables, or bring a laptop and get some work done while keeping an eye on the kids.

The clean bathrooms are another nice perk, especially for families with younger children.

Finding the Playground

The playground entrance is on the north side of the church, rather than through the main entrance. Once inside, you'll walk through the church to reach the playground.

That short walk is worth knowing about before your first visit, especially if you're arriving with little ones who are ready to play. Look for the playground entrance on the north side and follow the signs through the building.

Don't Miss Toddler Tuesday

For families with toddlers, Preston Trail hosts Toddler Tuesday on the third Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. In addition to playground time, toddlers have an activity to participate in, while parents can enjoy free coffee and some time to connect with other parents.

The church also has free parenting resources and books available to take from the shelves, including books for different age groups.

Know Before You Go

The playground is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays between services. Hours are limited, so be sure to check their website at https://prestontrail.org/playground, or join their Facebook group.

With a big, bright play space, plenty of seating, and room for parents to connect, it's a spot where the kids can have their own fun while the grown-ups get a chance to enjoy the visit, too.
